5 Things to Know: Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate

Badgers hit the links for spring break in the Carolinas

MADISON, Wis. —   The Wisconsin men's golf team travels to Awendaw, South Carolina to compete at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, March 24-26, in the Badgers' second event in the state this year.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out:  Sophomore Griffin Barela's 212 (-4) weekend positioned the sophomore to a sixth place individual finish at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. Barela's efforts helped Wisconsin grab a share of ninth-place at the 18-team tournament over St. Patrick's Day weekend.

2. The Course: The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate will be hosted at the Bulls Bay Golf Club, located in Awendaw, S.C. on the Atlantic coastline. The course is a few miles off the Atlantic Ocean and features low country coastline of sandy turf, windswept savannahs and greens alongside centuries old oak forests.

3. The Lineup: Hahn, junior Pete Kuhl, and sophomores Sam AndersonGriffin Barela and freshman Cameron Frazier will represent UW.

4. Bulls Bay: The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate will be hosted at the Bulls Bay Golf Club, located in Awendaw, S.C. on the Atlantic coastline. The course is a few miles off the Atlantic Ocean and features low country coastline of sandy turf, windswept savannahs and greens alongside centuries old oak forests.

5. Thoughts from Coach Burcin:
Griffin (Barela) and Jordan (Hahn) continue to be our leaders and we are very happy for Cameron (Frazier). His third round in the wind at Mission Inn for a freshman was very impressive. We look forward to a good week of work in Jacksonville before heading to Charleston for the Hootie."
