Hahn looks to make history in Louisville

MADISON, Wis. -- Senior Jordan Hahn becomes just the fourth Badger individual in history to play in NCAA Regionals, May 13-15 in Louisville, Kentucky at the University of Louisville Golf Club.

Here are five things to know before Hahn tees off:

1. Video Game Numbers: Hahn became the 12th Badger in history to be named first-team All-Big Ten and the first since Jon Turcott was honored in 2002. His season scoring average of 71.59 is the best in school history, more than a stroke better than the previous mark of 72.68 set by Dan Woltman in 2008-09. Hahn's career average of 73.09 is also top in the program records.

2. Louisville:  The University of Louisville Golf Club is a private club located in Simpsonville, Kentucky, 15 minutes east of downtown Louisville. ULGC has played host to numerous events including the 2006 Kentucky State Amateur Championship, as well as the 2007 Men's Big East Golf Championship. The University of Louisville rebranded Championship Par 72 Golf Course as the University of Louisville Golf Club, implementing multi-million dollar course renovations since 2013. The weather outlook for May 13-15 remains optimistic despite concerns over rain following a foggy practice round on Sunday. Temperatures should hover in the 60's throughout the week with lows remaining in the upper 40's and no expectations of continued rainfall.

3. Experience Matters: Hahn is one of the most experienced golfers in school history with 125 rounds of collegiate play entering the NCAA Regional Championship. The senior has an elite resume, finishing in the top 25 in nine of his 11 tournaments this season, with four top-10 finishes. Hahn earned first-team All Big Ten Honors on April 30, the only Badger to receive the award after securing two individual titles during the year, just the second Badger ever to win two tournaments in a season. For his career, Hahn has 11 top-10 finishes.

4. Regionals Setup: The tournament begins with a stroke-play segment to determine the individual champion (72 holes) and whittle the field down to eight schools who then compete in a head-to-head match-play bracket.  The top five teams from each regional and the low individual not on those teams advances to NCAA Championship at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., May 24-29.

5. The Lone Badger: Hahn enters a competitive field of the nation's best golfers in Louisville this week. Jordan tees of at 10:04 am from the first tee on Monday with Logan Lowe of George Washington University.
