MADISON, Wis. – After splitting its matches in Florida, No. 15 Wisconsin returns to the McClimon Soccer Complex for the first regular-season home matches of the 2019 season. UW faces in-state rival Marquette on Thursday at 7 p.m. before taking on Butler on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Thursday is Youth Team Night at McClimon as Madison area club and high school soccer teams receive free admission by wearing a jersey to the game.

1. A LOOK BACK: The Badgers open their 2019 season with a 1-0 win at UCF as Dani Rhodes scored in the second half, while Jordyn Bloomer saved a penalty kick in the 80th minute to earn the shutout. On Sunday, the Badgers held their own against No. 1 Florida State and forced the Seminoles into OT before FSU scored in the final minute of the first overtime to beat UW, 1-0.

2. MAGNIFICENT IN MADISON: UW heads into its home opener with an eight-match home unbeaten streak with their last setback coming at the hands of eventual NCAA champion Florida State last year. Over the last two years, Wisconsin is a stellar 12-2-5 at McClimon with nine shutouts.

3. WE HAVE HISTORY: Thursday's matchup with Marquette marks the 16th time the two teams have faced each other with the Badgers holding an 8-5-2 record and a three-game unbeaten streak against the Golden Eagles. Lauren Rice scored against MU last year while Jordyn Bloomer earned her first career shutout.

Sunday's tilt with Butler marks the first time the two teams have played each other since 1995. UW leads the all-time series 3-0-0, while outscoring Butler 6-0 in the previous meetings.

4. STRAIGHT FROM THE PITCH:
5. UP NEXT: Wisconsin will head to Chicago to take on Loyola on Thursday, Sept. 5 before coming back to Madison to face Green Bay on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
