Five Things to Know: Badgers continue road trip with stops at Northwestern, Indiana

UW faces Northwestern Thursday before wrapping up road trip at IU on Sunday

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's soccer team will wrap up its three-game road trip this weekend with games at Northwestern on Thursday and at Indiana on Sunday. The Badgers and Wildcats will meet in a 5 p.m. CT contest Thursday in Evanston, Illinois before UW faces IU on Sunday in a noon CT contest in Bloomington.

Both matches can be seen live on Big Ten Network+ and fans can follow the action live on Twitter (@BadgerWSoccer).

1. LAST TIME OUT: UW earned its first draw of the 2021 spring campaign with a 0-0 result at Nebraska last Saturday. Claire Odmark had two shots on target while Halle Fiedler also had a shot on goal.

2. BRICK WALL BLOOMER: Senior Jordyn Bloomer is tied for the Big Ten Conference lead in shutouts this year with four clean sheets in net. The 2019 first-team All-American is in the top-10 in school history with 23 shutouts, which is tied for the eighth most in program history with Genevieve Richard. Her next shutout will move her into a tie with Michele Dalton for fifth in school history. The Badger school record is held by Heather Taggart who had 52 during her collegiate career.
3. SUPER SOPHS: Sophomores Claire Odmark and Emma Jaskaniec have enjoyed great starts to the season as each have scored twice for the Cardinal and White. Odmark recorded her first collegiate goal in UW's season-opening 1-0 win against Iowa last month. Both of Jaskaniec's goals this year have been game-winning efforts and her two game-winning goals are tied for the second-most in the country.

4. LAST TIME AGAINST NORTHWESTERN AND INDIANA: The Badgers' last trip to Evanston on Oct. 27, 2019 was a memorable one as UW clinched the outright Big Ten title thanks to a 3-1 win at Northwestern last season. Dani Rhodes, Claire Shea and Jenna Kirarly all scored for UW to help the Badgers earned their third conference championship and second outright crown. UW leads the series against the Wildcats 18-8-2.
The Badgers did not face IU last season, but won their last matchup against the Hooisers on Oct. 5, 2018. Cameron Murtha and Lauren Rice each scored for the Badgers. UW leads the all-time series against IU 15-10-3.

5. UP NEXT: UW returns home for their final regular-season home contests of the 2021 spring season. The Badgers will face Maryland on Thursday, March 25 before taking on Rutgers on Sunday, March 28. Game times and locations will be announced in the following days.
